RTIF vt220
Sep 5th, 2012 at 12:29pm

THe RTIF terminals we use are vt220 emulating vt100. We have had some power issues here lately and have had to replace two of them. We dont have any spares, does anyone know if a vt520 or other terminal can be used? The connector on the back is the old style, with a plastic tab that slides into the port on the back. There are really old RTIF's. All the newer terminals have a db25 style serial connector.

You can use a vt520 as an rtif.

If your old rtif used a 20 ma cl interface you will need to replace the cables to use the db-25 rs-232 interface

Milt

Whatever terminal you get, make sure the Hold screen button is off, otherwise you will fail REX test.

Good afternoon
I have a question on these RTIF terminals. Both of ours are going out. How do you bsy them out/power them down? Is there a graceful way to do it?
Thanks for any help,
Steve

We are currently using 2 laptops with Hyperterm as our RTIF's

But a word of caution

This happened to me

We were relocating the RTIF's on an XA core and somehow one of them shorted out and it RESTARTED the switch don't know how but it did

If you are running into replacement hardware issues; our company manufactures replacement MAP/RTIF terminals, Solid State Drives, as well as cooling fans for the various DMS platforms.
