swld password
Dec 19th, 2014 at 4:18pm

Example of a swld account?s password is NOT set:
   grep swld /etc/passwd
   swld:*:204:205::/home/swld:/bin/ksh

EXAMPLE OF a swld account?s password is set:
   grep swld /etc/passwd
   swld:!:204:205::/home/swld:/bin/ksh

On the second column,
* is indicating that the password has not been altered.
   ! is indicating that the password has been manually set.

If a password has been set for the swld user, issue the following commands on the SDM as
the root user to clear this password and set it to not expire:
cp -p /etc/passwd /etc/passwd_bakup
chuser expires=?0? swld
cat /etc/passwd | sed "s/swld:!:/swld:*:/"> /etc/passwd_new
cp /etc/passwd_new  /etc/passwd
