DTC's to ethernet/SIP
Aug 7th, 2017 at 10:03am

We are looking at using ethernet/SIP as a work around to avoid ordering traditional T1 trunks due to the expense and difficulty ordering inter-lata circuits.  Is this possible for a DMS-100 using DTC's?  Obviously we will need some sort of a magic box to do the conversion outside of the DMS-100. Does anyone have any product recommendations on converting DTC's TDM to ethernet/IP SIP?  If so have you deployed it?

I'm fairly certain you would at least need a "Gateway" type device.  Nortel/Genband offered a SIP trunk solution.

Thanks mseawell, we are looking into a gateway now.  I'll update once we get everything setup and working.

The best solution for us was to send the calls to an adjacent Metaswitch to convert to SIP.
