DSN code not passing through to Cisco Call Manager
May 9th, 2019 at 10:29am

Good morning!

Have a little question that is probably multifaceted and requiring a lot of table work...

We are currently in the process of routing numbers to a cisco call manager for VOIP.  Numbers have been routed, but when trying to pass the digits for DSN we are not having any luck.  The two digits are not getting passed (in this case 94), just the 7 digits.

Any ideas on what tables to check?

I should add, that on our existing PRI trunks they DSN does work and TRAVER shows it passing through and showing up as a 40NXXXXXX.

Looking for a clue after a day and a half of table searches and testing.  Just need the DSN 94 to pass to the Cisco.

Thanks!

Had to replace identifying information with x's.  For NPA/Exc and specific site.  Hope that is ok.

This is for a failure.

Looks like you are stripping the leading two digits in IBNXLA, what happens when you change the '2' to a '0'?

TABLE IBNXLA: XLANAME PT201

You were correct!  I am coming to this late and had been told that was tried, and it had, just on a different entry for 94 in IBNXLA.  Now routing with all digits to the Cisco side.  Getting a fast busy and they are just showing the first 7 digits (including the 94) on their side, but as the Traver shows all 9 digits leaving, I am thinking it is a setting on the Cisco side.

Thanks again!

You might want to calltrak that PRI, place the test call, and there should be an incoming message from the Cisco with a "CI" (Cause Indicator) that could  explain why the call is being rebuffed.

That same calltrak should show your outgoing SETUP message with exactly the digit string the DMS would be sending to the PBX. This would confirm your traver.
