Script to remove DNs
May 17th, 2019 at 4:08pm

Greetings all!
Looking for a method to out hundreds of single line DNs and add them to dnroute.  This would be done as I receive lists of numbers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You might consider editing the list of numbers in (eg) notepad++ and FTP that file into the DMS or simply FTP the unedited file into SFDEV.

If the latter then could use SFDEV edit to put a:

'out $ ' before each DN and ' "the LEN" bldn y' after each DN.

If you're comfortable in SFDEV with using substrings, etc,  you could get the DN and LEN data on the same row as it comes out of IBNLINES table and then reverse them (because the LEN comes first, DN second from that table and needs to be opposite for the OUT command.) This method would insure accuracy of switch is driving changes (and not off board records).

Then create a 2nd file for NEWDN based off single numbers or ranges of numbers to associate the DNs to a route.

Also, keep in mind, if the option call forwarding exists on the line, you to have to delete the call forwarding via the DEO command prior to using the OUT command to delete it.

The cheap and dirty way to do it would be to use EXCEL then copy all the columns into notepad and remove the TAB that EXCEL inserts between columns.  The method of executing those SERVORD commands depends on the user interface, but it is best to use the DMS EDIT command to create a SFDEV file, upload those commands into that file, save it, then read the file.  Sounds complicated, but it isn't

I have put together steps using EXCEL for your project.  Read this post first which has good info on easily finding the DNs you want to remove:

Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Then read the attached to see how to use EXCEL to easily take output from the switch, edit it, create the commands you want, then read the file.  This method works for SERVORD and adds, delete or replace in tables also.  EXCEL can be your friend if you become well versed using it.

A correction to the EXCEL instructions:

In column D, the entry probably is bldn;y;abort not bldn y;abort
