best practices for blocking International calling
Jun 4th, 2019 at 1:15pm

Hello all,
I have a customer who is asking for a method to block calling to International NANPs from continental US.
They are currently using MLTCOS and table aniscusp for this task but would like some input on if there is a better way.

Thank you

One thought that might be worth testing is to build a new carrier in OCCINFO ( eg "ATT_NO_IDDD 0288" and copy everything from the original (eg "ATT 0288") except the INTNTL bool. It's probably set to "Y" now and you might be able to set this to "N". Then change the sub's PIC  from "ATT" to "ATT_NO_IDDD."

Prototype international test calls were blocked after '011' was dialed.

A couple tweaks:

1) insure you add the new carrier name to OCCNAME
2) make sure the ORIGCARR is set to "N" %% there can only be 1 - the first - ORIGCARR set to 'Y'.
3) then set the INTNTL bool to "N"
