Hello everyone. I am an admitted newb at Nortel so don't laugh too hard at me lol. We had a user leave the company and replaced them. The new user wants their name to show up on the outgoing caller id. I can see the name when I QLEN the DN, but how do I change the name to the new user? Any help is appreciated since I am being tasked with figuring this stuff out on my own lol.

Hello and welcome.If I remember you enter servord and enter the CHO ( change option command) , when prompt for option enter name and then enter the new info as prompted. If you get a network prompt it would lilkely be public rather than private.

Try this, note underscores create space between words in name and count towards 15 character total.....

Be advised what you change in the switch may require being changed in a national CNAM database like Neustar, TNSI, Targus, etc.

From the DMS perform:

>CNAMDVER <10digitnumber> 0

Then compare if the name info in the nat'l dbase matches (or needs to match) what you just modified in the switch.  If not, you may need to get to that group  in your company who can twist the CNAM database.
